Reviews for Academic Stream — Full & Short Papers (Oral Presentation)

Your careful and ethical evaluation ensures a high standard of research in immersive learning. Please review each submission fairly, confidentially, and professionally, using the criteria provided in the review form while following established international ethical guidelines listed below. What to Evaluate

In the review form, provide ratings for:

Constructive, Ethical & Objective Review

iLRN follows the COPE Ethical Guidelines and asks all reviewers to follow these international peer-review standards of the COPE Ethical Guidelines for Peer Reviewers. Based on this, the "Reviewers' Responsibilities" section in the iLRN Publications Ethics & Malpractice Statement has been created, which we would also ask you to follow. Full and Short Papers are considered for iLRN Proceedings published by Springer, so please also take Springer Peer Review Policy, Process and Guidance into account when reviewing the papers.

Your comments to authors must:

  • Explain and support all ratings
  • Highlight strengths as well as weaknesses
  • Provide specific and actionable suggestions
  • Remain respectful, unbiased, and professional

--> Do not include personal interpretations of the authors or assume identity, affiliation, or intent.
--> Maintain confidentiality — submissions must not be shared or reused before publication, and manuscripts must not be uploaded into generative AI tools.

Evidence-Based Evaluation

Empirical submissions:

  • Clear research questions and rationale

  • Appropriate design, data collection, and analysis

  • Transparent reporting of limitations and implications

Theoretical/conceptual submissions:

  • Coherent arguments and structure

  • Grounding in recognized scholarly discourse

  • Clear contribution to conceptual advancements in the field

Only evaluate based on what is actually presented.

Literature & Research Integrity

Assess whether:

  • Relevant work in immersive learning research is properly cited

  • Contribution is meaningfully positioned within the field

  • Citation practices follow academic integrity norms

If concerns arise (e.g., plagiarism, fabricated data, ethical issues):
→ Document them via Confidential feedback to the program committee (not in author comments).

Overall Recommendation

When evaluating acceptance:

  • Consider contribution value and revision feasibility within timeline

  • Even if recommending rejection, provide constructive improvement advice

Your recommendation should align with your category ratings and review narrative.

Reviewer Confidence & Confidential Notes

  • Indicate your expertise level honestly

  • Use confidential notes solely for communication with the Program Committee Chairs

Award Nominations

Nominate papers only if they demonstrate:

  • Exceptional rigor, innovation, clarity, and impact

  • Clear potential to shape future immersive learning research
